Video one of 25 to be Screened at the Hyatt Morristown - Posted 8/21/13
Saturday’s MorristownGreen.com Film Festival will give those in attendance a chance to view some exceptional documentaries while in a fun beach party setting. One video in particular explores the artistic talent and artwork of Todd L.W. Doney, professor of Visual Arts at County College of Morris (CCM).

A joint production of the Media Center and Department of Communications and College Relations at CCM, Nature Sublime: Landscape Painting by Todd L.W. Doney shares insights into the artwork of Doney. In the documentary, Doney talks about what he seeks to convey in his landscapes, his particular style of painting and his inspiration: the sun, light and color of his backyard, New Jersey’s Great Swamp.

“I was glad to hear that the video was selected for the MorristownGreen.com Film Festival,” says Michael O’Hagan, media producer at CCM, who shot, edited and submitted the video. “It was a great experience having the chance to step into Todd Doney’s world in some way through shooting and editing this short video.  He is a very talented artist and a great ambassador not only for CCM but for the beauty that resides within New Jersey’s Great Swamp. I am grateful to have the chance to promote this work through the festival.”

The sixth annual festival starts Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Hyatt Morristown at Headquarters Plaza, 3 Speedwell Ave. Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to view 25 documentaries ranging from 2-5 minutes in length.

Nature Sublime is eligible to win the People’s Choice award – voted on by the audience – and the Critic’s Choice award – chosen by a panel of filmmakers and film buffs.

In addition to the films, live music will be performed by the SteppingSTONE Band. Admission is free and those who attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and beach blankets to enhance the beach party theme. The Hyatt is offering an $18 buffet and special room rates for festival patrons.

"We've got a provocative and entertaining batch of entries this year,” says Kevin Coughlin, editor and publisher of MorristownGreen.com, a news and entertainment website serving the greater Morristown area. “You will leave the MG Film Fest knowing more about this community than when you came in. You will be challenged to see things in new ways – while having fun doing it."
