County College of Morris (CCM) student Lori Fredrickson, of Chester, recently participated in the first annual “Fest of the Best” event hosted by the Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ) and was awarded an ADCNJ Scholarship for her graphic design skills.
The program was held May 1 at the Mansion at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park as a combined portfolio competition and networking event for emerging designers to meet with industry professionals and educators.
Fredrickson was one of seven people to receive a scholarship at the program, which included students from both two-year and four-year institutions. Along with a $500 scholarship, Fredrickson received a two-year membership to the ADCNJ and the opportunity to showcase her work on the ADCNJ website.
Two other CCM students also were cited for outstanding portfolios at the event. Mildred Acevedo, of Dover, and Cristhian Sabogal, of Dover, each received a Certificate of Excellence and a two-year membership to the ADCNJ.
“This is a terrific accomplishment and one that will help them along their career path,” said Stephen Longo, professor of graphic design and special project leader at CCM.
