CCM Photo Contest Offers High School Students Great Prizes, Opportunity

Winners will be Featured in Exhibition Along with Graduates’ Work – posted 3/11/13
The County College of Morris (CCM) Photo Club is offering high school and qualifying CCM students the chance to show off their artistic skills while winning some great prizes in the process.

From now until midnight on April 3, students can enter the club’s annual photography competition. This year’s topic is “Home.” What does home mean to you? How does it make you feel? Entrants are asked to be as literal or abstract in their approach to the topic as they’d like.

“This annual contest is a great way for aspiring photographers to explore their craft while having a chance to win some amazing prizes,” says Hrvoje Slovenc, professor of photography at CCM and the photo club’s advisor. “It also offers those chosen a chance to appear alongside other inspiring artwork in our exhibition.”

Winning images could garner photographers an iPad mini, an iPod or a gift certificate, and will be exhibited in a show along with those of CCM students graduating from the Photography department in May.

The competition is open to high school students residing in Morris, Essex, Sussex, Warren and Hunterdon counties, as well as CCM Photography I students. To be eligible for prizes and the exhibition, proof of ID and authorship may be required by entrants. There is no limit to the number of entries qualified students can submit, and winners will be required to submit high-resolution files for the exhibition.

Photos can be submitted online at http://flickr.com/groups/ccmphotocontest_2013/. You can also enter via mail by sending prints or digital files with your contact information to County College of Morris, Photography Department, DH 201, Center Grove Road, Randolph NJ 07869-2086.

Finalists will be notified by April 10 and winners will be notified by April 17. Those looking for more information may send email to ngruneiro@ccm.edu and hslovenc@ccm.edu.
