Michele Dunn of Lincoln Park, registrar at County College of Morris (CCM,) will be serving as the Survivor Speaker at the Relay for Life of Greater Parsippany.
The overnight event takes place June 8 through 9 in Veteran’s Park in Parsippany. Dunn is scheduled to speak on June 8 at 4 p.m.
“I decided to take part in this year’s relay both to honor my father who lost his battle to cancer in December of 2007 and to celebrate my battle with lymphoma, which has been in remission since January 2008 and is now cured,” says Dunn. “This insidious disease touches so many lives, I want to be part of the battle for a cure.”
The relay is held as an opportunity for the community to celebrate those who have had cancer, remember lost loved ones and support the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
Registrar at CCM since 2005, Dunn is responsible for maintaining registration and matriculation information at the college, overseeing new course registration each semester and ensuring that students have met their educational course requirements for graduation.
For the relay, Dunn has joined the CCM Volunteer Club’s team. The team’s page can be found at http://tiny.cc/fkv8ww
