The Student Government Association (SGA) at County College of Morris (CCM) is inviting area residents to join it and other members of the CCM community on Saturday, April 14, for an “Autism Awareness Walk” to raise funds for research.
The walk takes places at Horseshoe Lake, 72 Eyland Avenue, Succasunna, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The suggested donation is $25. Participants who raise $50 will receive a t-shirt and those who raise $100 or more will receive a t-shirt and water bottle.
“Autism is something that is touching the lives of more and more people every day,” notes Anthony Scandariato, SGA president. “Part of the problem is that so little is known about autism due to the lack of substantial research on the issue. So come rain or shine, we hope others will join the SGA to raise funds to help better understand this epidemic.”
Registration will begin at 11 a.m. by the pavilion near the center of the lake. The track is approximately 1.7 miles long. Water and refreshments will be provided.
To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Registrations also will be accepted the day of the event. All proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks.
“This is an opportunity to become proactive and make a contribution that will directly impact millions of Americans struggling with autism,” says Scandariato.
