Carolyn Ucci, an admission counselor at County College of Morris (CCM), recently was presented with a Rising Star Award from the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) for her outstanding work on behalf of students.
A resident of Madison, Ucci was nominated by NACAC members for the recognition. In announcing the award, NACAC noted that in her two years on the New Jersey ACAC executive board, “Ucci has proved herself to be an incredibly dedicated and committed leader.”
Ucci initially joined the board as Website Committee chair and proceeded to take on additional leadership opportunities. At the end of her second year with the executive board, she continues to chair the Website Committee and has added co-chair of mentorship, camp college co-director, Conference Planning Committee, and Communications Committee, among taking on other responsibilities.
The award was presented to Ucci at the NACAC’s annual conference in Indianapolis, IN, in September. The NACAC consists of more than 13,000 admission professionals from four-year and two-year institutions of higher education.
The Rising Star Award honors individuals and programs that exemplify excellence and dedication to serving the needs of students in the transition from high school to college.
At CCM, Ucci is responsible for assisting the director of Admissions, recruiting new students, visiting high schools, attending college fairs and community events, reviewing applications, and meeting with prospective students to inform them about the college and admissions process. She also was responsible for reorganizing CCM’s Fall and Spring Open House to make them more valuable to prospective students. In addition, she serves as a member of the college’s Student Affairs Committee.
