The Art Club at County College of Morris (CCM) has announced the winners of this year’s art exhibit featuring the work of students in the visual and fine arts. The winners are Somina Mosaku of Morris Plains, Best in Show; Mike Dziomba of Randolph, Award of Merit; Rachel Brady of Wharton, Honorable Mention and Susan Brown of Morristown, Art Club Purchase Award.
The winners will receive gift certificates to Jerry’s Artist Outlet in West Orange. The work of the Art Club Purchase Award recipient also was purchased by the Art Club and donated to the CCM Foundation Scholarship Gala’s silent auction. Funds raised at the gala are used to support scholarships and other programs benefitting CCM students and the college community.
CCM features a number of art exhibits during the academic year but the Art Club’s annual student artwork exhibit, which takes place in April, is one of the largest.
The Visual Arts department at CCM is dedicated to developing students as artists and providing them with opportunities to share their artwork with the community. In addition to the Art Club’s recent exhibit, students have had their photography displayed in a local gallery as part of a Photo Club contest. Several CCM students also currently have their artwork displayed in New Jersey Assemblyman Anthony Bucco’s Randolph office.
The CCM faculty consists of seasoned and award-winning artists with artwork displayed in museums and galleries across the globe, from New York City to Zagreb, Croatia.
